Benefits of play on child's development: Answer



Play helps in development of children in various aspects.


Physical development

Children develop muscular and sensory abilities at the time of running, climbing, riding cycle and in other active play. These activities help to strengthen muscle and to learn coordinated movement and skills.


Intellectual and educational development

While playing with various toys play things; creative activity, problem solving, abstract thinking, imagination, communication and speech development occurs during play.
Children learn color, size, shape, number, distance, height, speed, name of objects, etc. during play.




Emotional development

Play enhances their self-confidence and self-esteem. Children express their fear, anxiety, anger, joy, etc during play. It reduces stress, stain, removes irritability and destructiveness, thus enhances the coping abilities. Play acts as outlet of negative feeling and considered as safety valve to release emotional tension and reduce emotional trauma. It is recreation and diversion for the children.





Moral development

Children learn norms of moral behaviour and responsibility. They learn morality from parents, teachers and other adults. During play with peers, child's behaviour will reflect the right and wrong things, honesty, sportsmanship and value system.  



Social development

Children become a social being through play. They learn interaction with playmates by sharing, Communicating, understanding others. Play helps children learn rules of social living and cultural activities. Children learn soceital roles like mother's for girl children vise versa.


Although we are observing social distance, you can allow your children to play in the house or within the environment.
